Program

The retreat offers two yoga and meditation sessions each day, along with daily workshops exploring a varied and evolving selection of topics. There is also plenty of free time to rest, recharge, and enjoy moments of stillness. This yoga retreat is designed to help you develop a deeper connection with your body, mind, and heart. As this awareness grows, you may begin to notice that your everyday choices and actions align more naturally with your personal intentions. A retreat at Suan Sati invites you to reconnect with your authentic self in a relaxed, joyful, and open-hearted environment. Throughout your stay, you’ll be surrounded by a supportive community of people from different walks of life who share an interest in self-discovery and personal growth.

During your retreat, you’ll also have the opportunity to take a break from digital distractions. This digital detox offers a chance to shift your attention away from the outside world and turn inward, creating more space to connect with yourself, fellow participants, and the retreat experience. Although stepping away from devices for several days may feel challenging at first, many guests come to appreciate the experience by the end of their stay. If you need to get online for an urgent matter, the staff can provide brief access to a hotspot. Suan Sati recognizes that family responsibilities and important work commitments sometimes require attention. They simply ask that guests use their devices away from shared spaces and other participants to help preserve a peaceful environment for everyone taking part in the digital detox.

Meditation and Yoga Program

The meditation practice centers on mindful breathing, known as Anapanasati. At the same time, participants are welcome to follow a personal meditation method that feels comfortable and appropriate for them. Suan Sati provides practical instruction and accessible spiritual teachings to support both meditation and the broader practice of bringing mindfulness into daily life.

Morning yoga sessions are typically active and energizing, combining Hatha and Vinyasa styles with elements from other yoga traditions. Afternoon classes generally take a gentler approach, featuring slow-flow sequences, restorative postures, or Yin yoga. These slower practices encourage mindfulness and provide a calming balance to the morning's more vigorous session.

Whether you're stepping onto a yoga mat for the first time or have years of experience, you're welcome to join. The instructors teach mixed-level classes and provide variations to suit different abilities. Modifications are available for anyone managing an injury or physical limitation, while those seeking a stronger challenge can explore options to develop their skills and deepen their practice.

Please note that yoga receives more time and attention in the program than meditation. The retreat is not designed to replace a dedicated silent meditation retreat. Beginners interested in exploring meditation are warmly encouraged to participate, although developing a meaningful meditation practice takes time, and results cannot be guaranteed over a six-day retreat.

Daily Workshops and Activities

Each day includes workshops covering a broad selection of subjects and practices. Topics may include yoga alignment, philosophy, bodywork, pranayama (breathwork), interpersonal connection, kirtan, and expressive movement or dance.

Guided Discussions and Journaling

Every morning, guests are invited to join a group conversation and work through guided journaling prompts. These activities provide time to reflect on personal experiences, check in with your emotions, and make sense of the insights that emerge throughout your retreat.

Daily Schedule

The schedule has been thoughtfully arranged to balance engaging classes and workshops with opportunities for personal reflection, rest, and relaxation. Guests are asked to commit to attending both the morning and afternoon yoga and meditation sessions each day. Other activities are optional, giving you the freedom to shape your experience according to your own needs and interests.

Follow your intuition when deciding how to spend your free time, whether that means joining an additional workshop, unwinding in a hammock, or heading out for a quiet walk on your own. The intention is to create space for a retreat experience that feels personal, nourishing, and meaningful to you.
